The Ministry of Public Health has warned against consuming fresh and frozen Indian shrimp, as it has been proven that some imported quantities are microbially contaminated, according to the results of analysis in the food laboratories of the Ministry.
The Ministry of Public Health, in cooperation with the Ministry of Municipalities, is working to ensure that all the available quantities of Indian shrimp are withdrawn from the market.
The Ministry called upon consumers, in case they have purchased fresh and frozen Indian shrimp during the last three days, not to consume it and return it to the outlets from which it was purchased.
In the event that it has been consumed and the symptoms of gastro-intestinal infection are felt, the consumer should visit the nearest health center, it added.
