The Environmental Monitoring and Inspection Department at the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change carries out inspection campaigns targeting 400 industrial facilities in various regions of the country to ensure that these facilities renew their official permits, and work to monitor any violations of the operating rules.

In a statement, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change called on all owners of small and medium industrial facilities in the State of Qatar to work on the speedy renewal of environmental and operating permits to avoid violations that the inspection committees will impose in case of any violation being detected, stressing that the Ministry will not tolerate violators.

The Environmental Monitoring and Inspection Department aims to conduct these campaigns to monitor the conditions of factories, the extent of their compliance with environmental laws and legislations and the stipulated requirements, as well as ensuring the renewal of permits issued to them by the designated authorities in the country.

The campaign comes in coordination with some relevant authorities, and within the Ministry's annual plan for unannounced periodic inspection and monitoring of factories and facilities that have environmental permits, and the work to control the violators of the requirements and laws to preserve the environment.

The campaigns include entities located in the various industrial areas in the country, such as the Small and Medium Industries Zone, Mesaieed, Doha Industrial Area, and Al Sailiya. It aims to ensure that the administrations of these facilities comply with the required environmental standards, as part of the Ministry's efforts to eliminate pollution and limit harmful effects on the environment. It also ensures that everyone adheres to the permits they have obtained and adheres to the necessary environmental requirements, and ensures cooperation with the concerned authorities to preserve Qatar's environment clean and sustainable.
