"Qatar Airways Introduces Second Generation AI Cabin Crew at Dubai's Arabian Travel Market"

Attendees at Dubai's Arabian Travel Market (ATM) will have the opportunity to meet and engage with the next iteration of the world’s pioneering AI-powered cabin crew. Sama 2.0, developed by Qatar Airways, will provide real-time assistance, offer curated travel experiences, and address frequently asked questions about destinations and support tips during the upcoming event.

The digital human crew will be featured at the Dubai World Trade Centre annual exhibition from May 6 to 9, 2024, at the Qatar Airways pavilion in Hall No.2. Additionally, Qatar Airways’ customers can interact virtually with Sama 2.0 through the airline’s immersive digital platform, QVerse, or its app.

Sophia, another humanoid robot, has garnered attention in recent years, notably as Saudi Arabia granted her citizenship in 2017, marking a historic milestone.

In recent developments, Qatar's national carrier appointed Badr Mohammed Al-Meer as the new Group CEO, succeeding long-serving CEO Akbar Al Baker.

Addressing specific sector demands, Al-Meer stated, “We have observed a high demand for First Class, leading us to introduce a newly-designed cabin unique to Qatar Airways. Drawing from both commercial and executive jet experiences, we are in the final stages of development, with 70 to 80 per cent completion. We anticipate announcing further details soon."
