Qatari Team
Qatar won two silver and one bronze medals in the 300-meter roller speed skating competition at the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023.
The Special Olympics saw the participation of 7,000 male and female players from 170 countries competing in 26 Olympic sports.
Mubarak Al Ahbabi won Qatar's silver medal in roller skating, whilst Shua Al Abdullah won the bronze medal in the same competition.
On Tuesday, Hamad Al Ahbabi claimed the silver medal in the 30-meter roller skating competition, whereas Qatari athletics player Mohammed Al Mahmoud won 5th place in the 200-meter race.
Qatar participated in the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023 with five male and one female athletes who competed in roller skating, athletics, and weightlifting competitions.
The Qatari team was headed by Assistant-Secretary of the Qatar Sports Federation for Special Needs Abdul Qadir Al Mutawa, in addition to coaches Ali Hudayb and Hessa Al Darwish (skating coaches), Sasia Ahmed (athletics coach) and Muhammad Al Rizqi (weightlifting coach).
Assistant-Secretary of the Qatar Sports Federation for Special Needs Abdul Qadir Al Mutawa dedicated this victory to HE the President of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani for his continuous and unlimited support for sport of people with disabilities, and to the president of the Qatar Sports Federation for People with Special Needs, in addition to all those in charge of this sport in the State of Qatar.
Al Mutawa also thanked HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Federal Republic of Germany Sheikh Abdulla Bin Mohammed bin Saud Al-Thani for the attention given to the Qatari delegation and his congratulations to the players for their effort and wins.
