Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani met HE Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov
HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani met Monday in Moscow with HE Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov.
During the meeting, they discussed the latest developments in the crisis between Russia and Ukraine, in addition to exchanging views on several regional matters and issues of common interest.
HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs renewed the State of Qatar's call on all parties to exercise restraint and resolve the dispute through constructive dialogue and diplomatic methods and the settlement of international disputes by peaceful means, and not to take what would lead to further escalation.
His Excellency underlined the need to ensure the safety of civilians and consider this a top priority.
Also, HE the Foreign Minister stressed the position of the State of Qatar and its keenness on the United Nations Charter and the well-established principles of international law, including obligations under the Charter to settle international disputes by peaceful means, refrain from the threat or use of force, adhere to the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of states, and reject and condemn all that is contrary to that.
