Passengers from the Qatar Airways Delhi-Doha flight, which was diverted to Karachi airport due to smoke detected in the cargo hold, have departed Karachi in a relief flight arranged by the airline.
The airline said in an update that the flight is expected to land at 4.15 pm Doha time and passengers on connection flights will be assisted with their onward connections.
“Passengers on diverted flight to Karachi, QR579, have now departed on a relief flight & will land in Doha at 4.15PM local time where they will be assisted with their onward connections,” Qatar Airways said in the update.
The airline also said that the passengers were served breakfast and refreshments throughout their time in Karachi.
Earlier QR579 flight from Delhi, India to Doha was diverted to Karachi, Pakistan after smoke was detected in the cargo hold. The aircraft landed safely at Karachi and passengers disembarked without any incident.
