EAAs Goals4Good Tournament
The Education Above All (EAA) Foundation has organized "Goals4Good" tournament, the Kick off of its Ramadan campaign, whith the participation of students from over 35 schools.
Director of Private Sector Partnerships at Education Above All Foundation Parintaj Sulaiman said that the tournament reflects EAA's commitment to the sustainable developments goals, particularly Goal 3 "Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages"; Goal 4 "Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all" and Goal 17 "Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development." She underlined the importance of the tournament in spreading awareness of the importance of education as a basic right for millions of marginalized and poor children around the world, and in establishing the principle of human leadership school students in Qatar, in addition to raising donations to support the selected EAA's projects, that aim to educate the most vulnerable children in the world.
Parintaj Sulaiman said that all funds raised during the tournament will be used for EAA's educational projects around the world, with a particular focus on supporting children in Myanmar, Zanzibar, Somalia, Sudan, Mali, Cambodia, Qatar, ROTA' "Young Volunteers for Training and Development" project and Al-Fakhoora program for access to higher education in Gaza, Syria, Turkey and Lebanon.
She explained that schools student will compete in the football matches in three age categories, namely 10-12 years, 13-15 years and 16-18 years, for both boys and girls. The winning team will receive a trophy and certificates of appreciation, as well as medals and prizes for Best Player, Best Goal and Best Goalkeeper.
The winners of the art competition, titled "The Classroom of Tomorrow", have been announced, she said adding that the artworks were offered for sale for QR 100 per piece, to be donated to Education Above All Foundation's projects.
EAA's "Goals4Good" aims to encourage students to practice their favorite sports and raise donations and aid for countries most in need, in addition to promoting the values of tolerance, respect, and solidarity among young people.
