At an auction held at the S'hail 2022 — The Katara International Hunting and Falcons Exhibition, which ended yesterday, a Mongolian falcon fetched in the highest price of QR911,000.
180 major companies from around the world participated in the sixth edition of the exhibition, which focused on falcons, falconry products, modern hunting gadgets, hunting-related weapons, modified vehicles and caravans, accessories, and camping supplies in response to rising demand from hunters and falconry enthusiasts.
Gulf businesses from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates were also prominent during S'hail 2022, with close to 40 of them specializing in firearms, rifles, hunting gear, and hunting vacations.
Numerous dignitaries, including Their Excellencies the Ambassadors accredited to Qatar, Ministers, and Sheikhs, as well as journalists and media representatives, attended S'hail 2022.Â
Salem Mabkhout Al Marri, Director of Public Relations Department, Katara, and member of the Executive Committee of the S'hail Organizing Committee, praised the sixth edition of the Exhibition for its outstanding success, which cemented its position as the most significant specialized exhibition in the world, particularly in terms of its setup, services, area, and presence of major international companies.
The falcon auction, one of the most intriguing events for falconers, hunters, and the general public, he claimed, set S'hail 2022 apart from other cultural festivals.
The success of S'hail 2022 was credited in large part to the local, Arab, and worldwide press and media, which Al Marri lauded for their crucial role in expanding the exhibition's horizons.
He noted that Katara views the media as an authentic partner in all of its heritage, cultural, artistic, and sporting activities and expressed his appreciation for the live broadcasts and reporting by the local Arab and international media, particularly Qatar TV, Al Kass channels, Al Rayyan TV, the Al Jazeera Network, and the audio, print, and social media.
S'hail 2022 experienced a significant influx of visitors on the last day from both within and outside Qatar. In addition to attending its cultural programs and various heritage activities, which were represented in lectures and seminars on preservation of falcons and environment, care of falcons and their breeding, as well as a poetry evening, the visitors were eager to witness the development and offering of products at the cultural heritage and economic forum. They also wanted to see everything that was new and modern in the field of falconry, hunting and hunting-related weapons, and camping trips. Several painters from inside and beyond Qatar participated in S'hail 2022.
The numerous attendees and exhibitors at S'hail 2022 also voiced their deep admiration for the growth and expansion shown by the sixth edition of the exhibition, which had a total space that was more than 10,000 sq m and had grown by 20 percent.
Like every year, the exhibition's highlight, the daily Falcon Auction at S'hail 2022, continued to attract high bids at each of the auctions.
