Aircraft Traffic at Hamad International Airport Rises by 36.8 % Last May
Air transport statistics for the month of May 2022, issued by the General Authority of Civil Aviation, today, showed a state of gradual recovery for this sector after the Coronavirus pandemic.
The authority said, in a statement, that aircraft movement at Hamad International Airport surged during the month of May 2022 by 36.8 percent compared to the same month last year.
The number of passengers also increased by 196.1 percent compared to May 2021, while freight and mail traffic witnessed a decrease of 13.7 percent compared to the same month of 2021.
The General Authority of Civil Aviation stated that the number of passengers increased in May 2022, reaching 2,814,647 passengers, compared to 950,482 passengers in the same month last year.
With regard to aircraft movement, the number of flights increased to 17,348 flights in May this year, after it was 12,678 flights in the same month of 2021.
