Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie
HE Minister of Municipality and Environment and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie issued a ministerial decision regulating the hunting season for certain birds and wild animals.
The ministerial decision stipulates that the hunting season for migratory birds (wheatear) will be only from 9/1/2021 to 1/5/2022, provided that hunting bustards will be by falcons only; and it is prohibited to use or exchange non-traditional hunting tools and means, particularly the electronic bird caller "Sawayat".
According to the ministerial decision, the rabbit hunting season will be only from 1/11/2021 to 15/12/2021, provided that rabbits are hunted by falcons and hunting dogs only.
The decision also prohibits the hunting of any other birds or wild animals, in particular the hunting of birds and animals that are endemic throughout the year, including shrikes, crested larks, leafbirds, desert larks, pheasants, ostriches and deer. (QNA)
